In 2018, Hashim Nawaz Khan and Hamza Wasti came together with a shared dream — to transform Pakistani football from the grassroots up. What started as a single training centre in Islamabad quickly grew into a movement that would reshape youth football across the country.

On the World Stage
From domestic dominance to international recognition, Smurfs Football Club continues to redefine what's possible for young footballers in Pakistan. Our players have proudly represented the country on some of the biggest youth stages in Asia and beyond—competing in the Asian Academy Championship, the Afro-Asian Cup 2025 against the youth sides of FC Barcelona and PSG, and the Koh Samui Youth Cup in Thailand. Facing elite academies like Arsenal's youth team and finishing as runners-up of the Asian Academy Championship in January 2025 and August 2025 are milestones that reflect the relentless hard work of our players and coaches. Making history, Waleed Sulemankhel's signing with SV Werder Bremen marked a groundbreaking first for any Pakistani club academy. These achievements are more than trophies and matches—they are proof that dreams built with discipline, belief, and consistency can take Pakistani talent onto the global stage. The journey has just begun.

Today, Smurfs Football Club stands as a nationwide movement, operating 42+ training centres across six major cities and nurturing more than 10,000 active players, with over 25,000 young footballers having been part of the journey since 2018. Through the Smurfs Foundation, the mission goes far beyond football—driving youth development, community impact, and education to build stronger futures on and off the pitch. Every training session, every match, and every opportunity created is a step toward empowering the next generation to dream bigger, work harder, and believe that their future has no limits.

Smurfs Football Club was founded on 8th February 2018 by Hashim Nawaz Khan and Azhar Hamza Wasti with a bold dream: to transform youth football in Pakistan. What began as a small vision driven by passion and coaching philosophy has grown into a nationwide movement.

Smurfs Football Club was founded on 8th February 2018 by Hashim Nawaz Khan and Azhar Hamza Wasti with a bold dream: to transform youth football in Pakistan. What began as a small vision driven by passion and coaching philosophy has grown into a nationwide movement.
Smurfs Academy — Founded 9 September 2018
To turn the vision into a structured pathway, Smurfs Academy was launched on 9th September 2018. The academy became the heartbeat of player development, offering professional coaching, structured training plans, and a nurturing environment for young athletes. Smurfs Academy focuses on long-term development, discipline, and character building — preparing players not just for matches, but for life. Today, Smurfs academy operates 42+ training centres across 6 major cities, developing thousands of players and creating a pathway from grassroots to professional football. From day one, our mission has remained simple — build better players by building better people.

On 1st January 2019, the Smurfs Foundation was established to give back to the community and ensure football remains accessible to every child. Beyond scholarships and education initiatives, the foundation has stood with communities in times of need — from organizing Ramadan food drives and distributing ration packages during COVID, to providing warm clothes for families in winter. Our players and volunteers have also led cleanliness drives at Margalla Hills and other tourist spots, promoting responsibility beyond the pitch. The Smurfs Foundation represents our belief that football is not just a sport — it is a tool to serve, uplift, and create positive change in society.

The Smurfs Elite Project represents the bridge between academy football and the professional stage — where potential turns into opportunity and dreams move closer to reality.
